Living Pura Vida is the home of Ocean Lineage — longboard-forward surf immersions rooted in Costa Rican surf heritage.
Founded by Andrea Diaz and built alongside Lia Diaz, national longboard champion, Living Pura Vida reflects a living lineage of Costa Rican longboarding and generational refinement.
What began as a traditional surf school has evolved into a curated coaching platform focused on progression, longevity, and depth in the water.

Our work is women-centered and designed primarily for surfers 30+ seeking thoughtful technical refinement, repetition, and meaningful connection to the ocean.

Meet Andrea
Andrea Diaz is a Costa Rican longboard and shortboard coach and former national champion whose competitive career includes representing Costa Rica at the ISA World Surfing Games.

Introducing Lia
Lia Diaz is a Costa Rican longboard champion and Pan American Games medalist, representing a new generation of competitive excellence.
With national titles and top finishes at the ISA World Longboard Games, Lia combines technical precision with fluid style in both shortboard and longboard disciplines.
Beyond competition, Lia is a thoughtful and intuitive coach, bringing clarity, patience, and high-level insight to surfers committed to refinement.
As part of Ocean Lineage, she continues a generational legacy of Costa Rican surf heritage while shaping the future of longboarding.

Say hello to Sol Diaz, the youngest of the Diaz crew and a true Pura Vida soul!
She’s got a deep love for the ocean and surfing, but she’s all about riding those waves for herself. Oh, and did we mention she’s a straight-A student too? As a coach, Sol is super attentive, caring, and always brings her best to the beach. She works hard to keep up with her powerhouse mom and older sis—but with that beautiful soul of hers, she’s already a star in her own right!

This smart, grounded kid will be part of our family-staff, welcoming you with his warm heart and pura vida vibes.

He’s our furry family member who lives for the beach and has even caught a few waves himself! A Golden-Husky mix, this stoked little dude will be your biggest fan, greeting you with tail wags and salty fur after every surf session.
